Pinterest and Samsung partner for ‘flippable’ Pin to promote Galaxy Z Flip3 handset

Pinterest has launched the first ever ‘flippable’ Pin on its platform, to promote the flexibility of the folding Galaxy Z Flip3 phone.

The campaign launches as Pinterest revealed that searches for ‘flip phone’ and ‘flip phone aesthetic’ on its platform have increased by 45 per cent and 35 per cent respectively, compared to this time last year (based on UK searches week ending 1 May 2022 vs. week ending 2 May 2021).
Additionally, a November 2021 study carried out by Sparkler, found that 70 per cent of Pinterest users want to buy a new product release they like as soon as possible – 15 per cent more than non-users.

Through the flippable pin, Samsung will stop the scroll by creating an illusion of the Galaxy Flip3 folding out of thin air with the help of Pinterest’s Breakthrough Video ‘Portal’ technique, bringing
3-dimensionality to the ad to stand out in the home feed.

“We are delighted to partner with Pinterest and create the first-ever flippable Pin for the new Galaxy Z Flip3,” said Aicha Allali, Junior Marketing Manager at Samsung. “With Pinners looking for new ways to experience technology, our ‘How we Flex’ campaign will help them discover fun and exciting ways they can use the folding capabilities of our latest flip phone every day.”
